You Can Keep Reading… and Reading… and Reading… and

by Ellie Walsh

Books on how to change your lifeIf it’s information you want on how to change and or enhance your life…. Well it is not hard to find – there are a gazillion books out there on the subject!

Bookstores – Libraries – Right here on the internet – every time you turn the corner – there is another book – with another opinion on how to make your life better……

Another person’s opinion on how to change your life — They sayThis is the Method – the Book – The Secret – – – that will Change Your Life!
Reading the books to change youf life
So you buy that book – it says it will change your life – doesn’t it? So… this must be the one that will finally do it!

You want a good life – a happy life – a prosperous life…. You want to eat good food and live in a nice house… You want loving relationships – you want a successful career – you want to drive a nice car…. You want to do the things you want to do – when you want to do them!

YES! I wanted that…. and when I was a teenager I absolutely remember thinking — “this is not the way life is supposed to be – there has got to be a better way – – and someone knows how to do it – and I’m going to find that information!”

Information Junkie……… And so – I became an information junkie! I started to read every book I got my hands on – I wanted to find the answers! If you wanted to find me – I was either at the bookstore, at the library, or in my room reading the book I just got!

Did I find my answers in those books? NO – – – – So I kept reading… and reading… and reading….

The Answers are not in the Books

the answers are not in the next seminar

not in the weekend workshop

not in the online class

Ellie are you saying those books, and programs, methods and workshops are all worthless?

Oh no – not at all … I’m not saying that – There is wonderful information in all of those…. But that is all there is within those – information – not the answers to your questions!

I finally realized, after reading many books…. I do not live my life from a book… a book can not contain my answers. A book can help me to see another viewpoint – look at things from another angle… A book or workshop can ignite an idea within me – it can nourish a thought within me – – –

redarrow_right.jpg The Ah hah for me – is when I was aware all this information from other people’s perspectives was useless to me – until I found my own perspective about this information.

I write books, I write here on the website, I lead workshops – – and here is always my message “I do not have your answers” – – Only you have your answers – you need to find your own perspective – you need to live your life from your own voice.

Reading, attending workshops, participating in forums and teleconferences are fantastic tools – if you utilize them as just a tool and not the means for your answers. Taking these tools and looking further within you – you will find what resonates with you. You can then decide what is right for you – much like when you are at a banquet table – you pick the foods that appeal to your tastes.

You can use a banquet table to try different foods – try this and that – and then decide – Hmmm this was pretty good – but that – nope it is not for me. Just because your friend or spouse thinks stuffed mushrooms are out of this world – that does not mean you should eat stuffed mushrooms! You get to decide what you put on your plate and what you put in your mouth!

Same with all the information on how to live a happy, productive, prosperous life. You are the authority of your life – you get to decide – you get to pick and choose what books, workshops, methods resonate with you. There is not a right or wrong way to live your life…. there is always only Your Choices of how to Live Your Life!

redarrow_right.jpg So keep reading… and reading… and participate in forums and teleconferences….. and attend workshops – – with the idea of tasting it and then deciding what resonates within you – what feels right to you…

Honor your inner voice – follow your inner guidance –

Only You have Your Answers!

Hey Ellie!

Thank you for the reminder! This is a great post to help me remind myself not to take everything at face value! Thank you for your perspective =)

You know! I’ve found that writing about what you learnt from books is SIMPLY EYE-OPENING! You see sides you’ve never seen before.. Sometimes, you even come up with your own ideas.. That’s what I love about writing!

Hi Ellie, this is a very good reminder for all of us..
I’ll take it that all the books that we read, seminars and courses are events. That is useful to open our paradigm, but the real changes happen in the process. What happens after the events. That’s what matters.

I’m sharing the article and a very interesting video on my article here, hope you enjoy it.

How to be successful, uniquely yours!

Thanks for reminding me again. Cheers,

Hi SaiF….
Yes — writing is a great way to release the perspective within us!

Hi Robert…..

Finding your perspective within those books and events and then living it – that is the joy of the journey! 😉
