Out With the Old…. In With the New!

by Ellie

Out with the Old - In with the NewWow… here we are just a few days left of 2007 and the start of 2008. Time really goes by pretty fast doesn’t it?

  • Are you going to make any resolutions for 2008?
  • Did you keep the resolutions you made for 2007?

Well over 20 years ago I made a resolution that I have kept year in and year out. That resolution is “No More Resolutions!”

redarrow.png Oh I used to make them every year… and every year within months, if not weeks and sometimes within days – I would break that resolution – 1-2-3!

Hey that is fine — but then I would beat myself up for breaking the resolution! What a ridiculous circle that was for me! The kind of resolutions I made were things like – “I will be more organized – I will clean up the clutter” — Well to tell you the truth “being organized” does not float my boat!

And within my clutter – I am organized. I truly know where everything is… so what was the problem? Apparently I had some rule in my head that said “You must not have clutter”. That was not my rule – so why follow it?

So I don’t make resolutions – but I do always have intentions. Intentions – things I am intending to accomplish. Every few months I actually do have the intention of cleaning up some of the clutter… It isn’t a rule – it just starts to feel to me – OK the clutter is bothering me now – so I’ll clean it up a bit. Ahhh that is so much softer – and it is so easy for me to then follow that intention.

small_butterfly.jpg Not only are these the last days of the year – but for me it is also my birthday. Today, the 28th, is my birthday. Don’t ask me my age – if you do I will tell you I am 8 years old – just like I say in my about me page! ;)

So it just feels right for me at this time to look back at the previous year and to set some intentions for the coming year…. I don’t just set intentions for the coming year – I look back and appreciate all the wonders of 2007!

Now you might be thinking – the wonders of 2007!? I can’t wait for this year to end and maybe I can start all over brandie new!

Well since today is my birthday – I have a gift for you… This gift is a book I just finished and it is all about how to end the year and start anew. What’s it called? “Out With the Old…. In With the New!”

Now I just finished up this ebook and I just sent it to my editor – - which means I am going to release it to you before I get the OK on it…. Well I think it is ready. So if there are typos – Oh well…. a few typos never hurt anybody! ;)

Happy Birthday Ellie!!! I am a couple days late but I want to wish you a happy birthday and a happy, prosperous new year. I’ve had the same resolution as you do – No resolutions, for quite a few years now and it works fine for me. Yes, intentions are a much better idea.

Hi Phil….

Thanks for the birthday & new year wishes!

Resolutions come from my head – Intentions come from my intuition. For me — that is a much better way to live! :)

Wishing you a Wonder-Filled New Year!
